“No, not that — though I do have some questions about that — I meant, how come you don’t have one, too? Only Tifa can have a baby?” Kid asked, “This is way more complicated than I thought…”
“That’s one of the differences between men and women. Women are physically designed to have children, while men are only designed to be a part of the process. Which is the reason I asked my earlier question.”
“So… Tifa’s got a baby in her belly, and it’s gonna grow in there for a while, right?” he reasoned aloud, “And men are only part of the process.”
He was still thoroughly confused. He didn’t see how men really helped.
“… How do guys help with the… “process”?” Kid asked, “Seems like women do all the work. How does the baby get there?”
Vance nodded as the boy went through his message piece by piece. It was piecing together rather easily, he believed.
And then the next question hit and he did his best not to stutter.
“…So, this is the part where things get complicated to explain. Do you know anything about sex, Kid?”

“Well… I was made as a replica of Riku, I think he was about fifteen at the time,” He began, “And I got most of his memories up until then, but… technically I’ve only existed for … three years? Maybe four? But I have the memories of someone older…”

Vance takes a few deep breaths, steadying his mental state before nodding to himself. “Kid, has someone explained to you the difference between men and women? Not just their habits and behavior, but…the physical differences?”
“Well… girls are built different, right?” Kid asked, “Like… curvier, right?”
He didn’t know what this had to do with babies and where they come from. Did it have to do with whether the baby was a girl or a boy?
He had to concede that point. “Well, yes, that is true. But I meant…”
A thought struck him. Would Kid even have the same physiology? Too late to turn back now.
“Kid…why do you wear clothing? Because you have parts below your waist that are private, correct?”
“What kind of question is that?” He asked, irritated with the odd question. It seemed entirely off topic to him.
“Look, I just want to know why a baby makes Tifa’s belly swell up. I don’t get it. Vexen made me and Xion in a lab, is it that different?”

At the boy’s next question, however, he deflated some. “Well, because…she and I made that baby. When a man and a woman love each other very much, they show that love through physical intimacy. Afterwords, the woman can become ‘pregnant’, and that is where the mother and father combine their genetics to form a teeny-tiny little child. After a few months, the baby starts to grow inside the woman’s belly. After about nine months of this process, the woman gives birth.”
